There are still a lot of women in this world who are subject to gender bias. While gender equality is not exclusive to women, it is us, who mostly get the short end of the stick. Some don’t enjoy equal opportunities simply because they are women. Gender bias has always been deeply ingrained in our society. The patriarchal world in which we live, men have always been considered to be the superior gender. This notion is slowly changing or has changed for the most part. I agree that there is still inequality to a certain degree, but women have done more than enough to prove they are capable of achieving everything men can.
Media often perpetuates the idea that men, by nature, are bolder and assertive while women are caring, nurturing and docile. What we don’t realize is both the genders are capable of possessing all the aforementioned qualities. Undeniably men possess a stronger muscle power, while women are always looked down upon as being weak. Women are much more than that. We can be strong too, in different ways. Intelligence is far more superior to physical power, and that is not to say that men aren’t intelligent. I have seen women multitask, drive autos, planes etc. You will find women everywhere, from land to sea and air. Being an actress, I see so many emerging women film directors, handling an entire crew all by themselves. Women have made their mark in every sphere of life, be it doctors, engineers, scientists, astronauts, politicians and have become inspirational figures. Although I’m not a feminist, and do not want to dominate the other sex., I’m a strong advocate for equality. Girls, sit back and witness all that we’ve accomplished! Be proud and enjoy the equality we’ve achieved through all our hard work.
