Ever since the lockdown was eased, everybody has been desperately wanting to go out. Some of us, including myself, had forgotten what life outside of the lockdown was like and here we are, back in the game again.
It was my first time going out after the lockdown restrictions were eased and I couldn’t contain my excitement. I ran to my closet to pick the perfect post-lockdown outfit. I was in a dilemma about what to wear. I kept rummaging through my closet only to find outfits that seemed new after the 2-month long break but everything seemed new. I first moisturized and then applied sunscreen on my face and thought that would be enough and then I came back and applied some compact powder. A while later, I realized I hadn’t applied Kajal and lip balm (They’re my go-to makeup products). I thought I could do my hair better and went on to blow dry it. I went out and looked at my sandals and though I have a huge collection of footwear, they looked completely alien to me before I realized they were mine. This post-lockdown anxiety was really getting to me. This was a special day and on all our special days, we all wanna look perfect when we step out, right? I’m sure you guys can relate 🙈
Guess what? Just when I got into my car, my Mom handed me a mask. Ughhhhh. All that hard work that went into looking perfect was hidden behind the mask.
People often talk about the positive effects the lockdown has had on nature, but I think the lockdown has rejuvenated us too. Due to the back-to-back shoots, I had to paint my nails, use chemical-laden beauty products, and style my hair using heat. This was a break from the chemically enhanced beauty regime. All the harm caused by styling, blow-drying, chemical products is undone! Trust me, now I feel more refreshed than ever.
For all of us, this was a break from the monotonous life we were living. The world is changing and it’s refreshing to see how people have been trying to do the same, me being one of them. Good news for all my fans who wanted to see me in long hair again. Yes! My hair is growing and I don’t plan on chopping it again. You guys shall see me with long hair soon! Share your post-lockdown experience with me too.
