Year after year, so many celebrity wax statues get added to the prestigious Madame Tussauds museum. Being an admirer of art, I’m always in awe of how perfect the wax statues look. The statues are beautifully designed, with such intricate details that make them look so close to real life. I heard it takes them around 7-8 months to create one wax statue! When a fellow citizen is honoured with a wax statue, it is a matter of immense pride for all of us. I’m sure we all would love to see our doppelgangers too.
I’m more than happy to see young achievers from other film industries being recognized for their work and being honoured with wax statues at Madame Tussauds. While it is a moment of pride for the younger generation of actors, it is also important that we never forget the contribution of veteran film personalities. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are. They laid the path for us and we must follow in their footsteps. They inspire us to reach our full potential. They must be recognized for all the hard work, and for all the accolades they’ve received in their respective industries.
No one from the Kannada film industry has been honoured with a wax statue until now. Appaji, Vishnu sir, Ambareesh sir, Shankar Nag sir, Pandaribai mam, Jayanthi mam, B. Saroja Devi mam, Kalpana mam, Manjula Mam and all the iconic actors who make us feel proud. It is really sad that all their efforts to put the Kannada film industry on the map, have been overlooked. The veterans deserve this more than we do. Do you all agree with me?
