Pocket money is to kids what income is to adults. We work so hard to impress our parents, doing all our homework on time and by scoring good marks in examinations! Being a 90’s kid, back when our lives weren’t technology-laden, every rupee counted. I would receive pocket money from my Dad and the amount increased as I kept growing up. My grandmother would bring us remote cars and coloured pencil pouches during vacations. My relatives would come home with toys and gifts and that would make me and my brother happy. I would pretend to be happy when they came but secretly wished for them to leave because that’s when they would give us pocket money HAHA 🤫 Though my parents gave me enough pocket money for that age, it’s always nice to have a little extra, isn’t it? I would collect all my little earnings and store them in my piggy bank. I loved spending money on chocolates (I have a big sweet tooth but that’s a story for another day) and secretly ate them during my sports class. (Who cared about fitness back then 😜). Thanks to my parents, I had a wonderful childhood.

I remember my dad would make it a point to note down the budget and expenses whenever we went on a trip. He would teach me and my brother how to spend and record our expenses in a journal. That would give us control over our expenses. I slowly became adept at saving money.
Tell me from who would you get that little extra pocket money in your childhood ??

“The boy playing in the sand looks up at the private jet flying in the sky and wishes, I should be like that one day, but the rich guy in the private jet looks down at the kid playing in the sand and wishes the good old days of his childhood can come back”
very true 🙂 though I had my cycle at home, whenever I visited my grandparents during the summer holidays, I used to rent a small cycle of my size to cycle around with my cousins , miss those days 🙂
Pocket money ?
Very inspiring 🙂
Could u show us your earring collection from childhood if u have?
I do have my piggy bank but not savings 😛
hahahaha….! so funny
Very true 🙂 Good old memories, stay with us forever ☺️
