Back when I lived in an apartment, there were many pigeons snooping around my building. One fine day I’d caught a pigeon sitting on the wardrobe that I kept outside the balcony. I had covered it with a sheet so it doesn’t get wet when it rains. At first, I thought that the pigeons were coming there to rest but soon I realized, they’ve made it their abode. I realized it was the Mama pigeon who had laid eggs and stayed there always. Take a look.
Mama pigeon left the eggs in Papa pigeon’s care whenever she went out.
When she came back, she would quickly embrace the eggs and guard them with her life. A mother’s love ❤️
When the pigeons went out for food, I quietly sneaked in and took a few pictures. Baby pigeons have yellow feathers when they’re born, gradually replaced by the grey feathers. Look at the mess they’ve made out of my sheet.. but I’ll excuse it for the little ones lying in the nest. I would change the sheet regularly and keep their home neat and tidy. 😅
Mama pigeon keeping the babies warm, as it should be.
Baby pigeon on the right, not a baby anymore 😇 but still has traces of the yellow feathers.
Mama pigeon and baby pigeon thinking deeply.. I wonder what 😮
Caught the pigeon family sitting on my chair
It was so cute watching Mama and Papa Pigeon feed the baby and teach him how to fly. I would hide behind and watch them because I didn’t want to scare them off. I watched the baby pigeon grow right in front of my eyes and eventually fly away. I felt really bad when they flew away but were eventually replaced by another pigeon family every time. (Looks like the pigeon PG had become popular within the pigeon community)
I’ve always loved pigeons. Many people call them pests, despise them, and whatnot. They deserve to be loved and cared for just like every other creature. 😊
